Alexander Angus James Gardner, professionally known as Alex A.J. Gardner, was born on December 17, 2000 in Greenville, SC. Born into a household with a mom, Kelly Gardner, and a dad, Don Gardner. He has a brother, Evan Gardner, and a sister, Sara Gardner, both of which are younger than him.
Gardner attended Brushy Creek Elementary and Northwood Middle School, he was a very competitive young kid who played about every sport. While in middle school, he played soccer and also while growing up he played for the local football and basketball teams. Gardner is a die-hard Clemson fan and hoped to play for them one day. Injury caused him a major setback but because of his hard work and dedication, he is achieving his dreams.
Gardner lived in Greenville SC with his family for 15 years and in the summer of 2015, they decided to move. They moved out to Gilbert, AZ where Gardner attended high school at Gilbert High school in Gilbert, AZ. While there, he played football and soccer. His high school education was fun, and was one of the favorite years of his life! As a freshman, he played football in the fall and soccer in the winter. That made him really good at both sports.
Then in the summer of 2016, Gardner had a major setback with injuries. He tore his hamstring completely apart and off the bone during a football scrimmage and had to have surgery to repair it. From that point, he knew he would never be the same athlete from that point forward. Though he played football again in his senior year but didn’t really see the field much and he never remained the same.
Gardner graduated high school on May 23, 2019. He was left to decide what he wanted to do with his future. After thinking it over with family, he decided he wanted to become an actor. Many people around him also influenced him into doing it. I think he chose well because just a week after fully committing to be an actor, a casting director reached out to him about a role in a Disney+ football movie about Clemson football. At first he was shocked because it was a great feet that he wasn’t expecting. Then they explained more to him about what it would be, and it all became more believable.
That was how he officially became an actor. It’s so surreal because he grew up a Clemson fan, dreaming to play football for them and become a Clemson tiger. He made many connections while on set and learned a lot, he was also given more opportunities to appear in more projects in the future! The future is bright for the young 18-year-old actor. It was a great way to start his acting career and he’s set to take over the wheels of the industry with his talent and hard work. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him!
He acts mainly on screen, like movies and TV shows. He is also available for voice over acting and hosting. Please see his resumé for the details of his experience and skills.
